About Loxley Farms

With my years of exploration and experimentation as a Master Gardener, I strive to take the powers of natural botanicals that I find most relaxing and infuse them into my products. I use ingredients that are pure and work hard to preserve the simplicity that nature intended for them. A portion of the herbs are grown here on my farm in historic Hanover, Virginia without the use of pesticides or harsh chemicals. I use fabrics that are appealing to both sight and touch, featuring luscious floral prints on a 100% premium cotton fabric.

My wish for my products is to give you the opportunity to take a few minutes for yourself and feel special and cherished while using these handmade products.

Handmade in Hanover, VA

I run my business out of my farmhouse, located in historic Hanover, Virginia, originally built in 1895. I grow many of the flowers and herbs I use on-site and forage many of the flowers from around the area when using them for floral designs for weddings, arrangements and more. While I strive for using local ingredients around me, my products are available to ship to any location for any occasion.

About Catherine

Ever since I was a child, I have always had a deep love for the natural world. I come from a long line of gardeners, drawing inspiration from the creativity that my mother instilled with me in the garden. We still share that connection today, working together to assemble products.

I first discovered the healing powers that herbal compresses offered me in the late 1990s when I worked at a plant nursery. I started having headaches from working with dried soil, and a friend suggested making herbal compresses to help combat headaches. I decided to give it a try, seeing that I had a bumper crop at home and nothing to lose. From then, I was in love and began using them religiously when I needed relief from a long day’s work. I have sold many compresses over the years and received so many wonderful stories about how they’ve helped every kind of ache and pain, which has inspired me to help share their healing power with others.

Later, when my husband and I bought Loxley Farms in 2006, I was able to grow all kinds of varieties of herbs and began making products with them.

Today, I am an avid gardener, floral designer, registered nurse, grandmother and mother to a new puppy! I love working with flowers in all types of capacities, and also guest teach a class at a local college on Dried Flowers and Beyond. When I’m not making or designing, I have a large family that I love to spend time with.
